Local authorities of Bender rayon state that all local public assets are pledged to banks, and the public servants have no idea how to obtain a new credit to pay the salaries
"The most attractive economic objectives of Bender have already been privatized", stated Leonid Tcaciuc, Head of Bender administration, cited by Novyi Region Agency.
Thus, the official says that the authorities cannot obtain a bank loan, because the remainder of assets in public management has been pledged. "Theoretically, the bank Benderisotbank (which is the main creditor) might ask for the simultaneous payment of credits amounting to US$2.4 million, because the authorities have no guarantee".
At the same time, the local public servants think they will reach an agreement with the bank, because the debts and interest is regularly being paid. Monthly, US$20.5 thousand are spent for the service of bank credits of the city budget.
Bender authorities also stated that they would however try to obtain a bank credit free of pledge that is necessary to pay the salaries to teachers. "There is no money in the budget. We will try to obtain a credit, although we cannot affirm that the bank will agree to issue it without a pledge", said Leonid Tcaciuc. The official also said that the authorities will address a request to the local companies to pay their taxes in advance.
