Speaking with the residents of Cosnita, a Moldova-controlled village on the eastern Dniester bank in the Transnistria Security Zone, Tarlev voiced confidence the problem will be resolved without bloodshed, because the conflict broke out [in 1992] not due to ethnic or religious differences, but was initiated by external forces, so this is an artificial conflict, as he put it.
"There still exist some groups that keep the conflict warm, but they do not have much time left at their disposal", he said.
Tarlev said his Government does its utmost to speed up the conflict settlement. Until that day, the Government will be rendering all possible assistance to the people residing in the Security Zone.
The Premier visited the just repaired dwelling quarters of Moldovan peacekeepers on duty in the Zone.
