The authorities from Tiraspol pretend that Chisinau’s attempt to prohibit the circulation of cars with Transnistrian registration numbers out of the region failed. A declaration in this context has been given to the Russian press by the president of the Supreme Soviet of Tiraspol, Evgheni Shevciuk.

He reminded that, according to some preliminary agreements between the officials from Chisinau and the ones from Kiev, beginning with January 1st, the cars with Transnistrian registration numbers had to be prohibited the access to Ukraine. At the next stage, their access to Republic of Moldova had to be prohibited too.

Shevciuk declared that Ukraine continues admitting in circulation cars with Transnistrian numbers. He was satisfied with the fact that the authorities from Kiev didn’t carry out the requirement of Chisinau authorities.

We remind you that, in the second half of the last year, the problem of cars with Transnistrian registration numbers has been regularly examined by the officials from Chisinau. At the first stage, they prohibited the circulation through Moldova of cars with Trasnistrian numbers which belonged to citizens from the right bank of the Nistru River. At the second stage, they started to solve the problem of cars with Transnistrian numbers which belong to citizens from the left bank of the Nistru River.
