The Transnistrian authorities hope to satisfy the population’s energy
requirements at the cost of Dubasari state power station. For this
purpose the station was withdrawn in 2007 from the composition of the
Eastern power networks and transformed into an independent enterprise.
As Infotag has already reported, this is the first power
station on the Dniester. It was built in 1955 and it calls for urgent
reconstruction and upgrading. If new equipment is installed, its
capacity can increase from 48 to 64 thousand kWh. Investments in the
amount of USD USD50 million will be required for this purpose.
For
11 months of 2007 the station produced 244.7 million kWh of electric
power, the population consumes yearly 300-320 million kWh. When the
station became an independent enterprise, it receives the possibility
to use its profits at its own discretion.
It produces the
cheapest energy in the region, the tariff for its energy increased by
11% up to 0.3 ruble (USD0.03) per 1 kWh from 2008.
