Moldova passed a batch of medical facilities worth 136 thousand euros
for the blood transfusion centers in Tiraspol Rybnitsa and Bender.
According
to The Moldovan Ministry of Health Protection, these facilities
include, in particular, plasmapheresis device, thermostat, centrifuge
for cleaning water, binocular microscope.
According to Deputy
Minister of Health Protection Boris Golovin, these facilities were
provided in the frame of the “Transfusion Security in Moldova” project
and it will help Transnistrian colleagues to achieve the European level
in rendering medical services to the population.
“The
financial resources for purchasing these facilities were allocated from
the country’s budget and from a loan by the Development Bank of the
Council of Europe”, he said.
Vladimir Voronin, who was present
at the ceremony of handing these facilities to Transnistrians,
underlined that the citizens’ health is much more important that any
political differences and artificial impediments.
“We strive
that all the population of Moldova enjoyed accessible high-quality
medical services. Health cannot by divided by borders”, the President
said.
Representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social
Protection of Transnistria Svetlana Arkadieva expressed its gratitude
for the donation and underscored the activation of cooperation with
Chisinau.
“We are implementing jointly the projects on combating
TB and HIV/AIDS, we are developing family medicine and hope in the
assistance in introducing medical insurance”, she said.
