The speaker appreciated the opinion according to which he takes the power from Smirnov is subjective.
„The president has the responsibility to apply a veto on the law which he doesn't agree with, and the Supreme Soviet is meant to face the veto, if necessary. This fact permits the identification of some optimal solutions for the existent problems. The fact that now we have more legislative acts worth being discussed doesn't meant anything”, Shevchiuk mentioned.
According to him, „due to the usual activity of legislative creation, there shouldn't be any conclusion that there is a conflict between the legislative and executive power”.
