The inflation level in Transnistria in February constituted 3.3% against 4.28% in January and 2.8% in February 2007.
According
to the Transnistrian Ministry of Economy, the most considerable price
increase in February was for services – 6.44%. The prices foodstuffs
were raised only 2.74%, and for industrial goods - 1.24%.
The
cumulative inflation level from the beginning of the year exceeded
7.72%, whereas it was planned that the annual inflation will not exceed
12%. The prices for services increased by 12.9% for two months, for
foodstuffs -7.92% and for industrial goods – by 2.79%.
In 2007 the inflation level in Transnistria exceeded 29.4%, whereas the target is 10%.
In Moldova the February inflation constituted 1.5%, as in January.
