Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin had a telephone talk with Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov on Monday - their first contact whatever since 2001. They agreed on holding a personal bilateral meeting to discuss development of relations and consolidation of trust between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
Voronin and Smirnov have requested their responsible executives - Moldovan Minister of Reintegration Vasile Sova and Transnistrian minister of foreign affairs Valery Litkai - to make all necessary preparations for such meeting, whose date will be officially announced later.
