Transnistria has returned the car with money for pensioners, which car was unlawfully detained at the customs post.
As
Infotag has already reported, the car of the Posta Moldovei, which was
carrying 130 thousand lei for paying out pensions to pensioners from
Moldovan villages in Transnistria – Corjova, Malovata Noua was
detained. Transnistrian customs officers considered the cargo to be
contraband, as the driver did not declare it.
From the very
beginning the Moldovan side declared the unlawfulness of arresting the
car and its cargo in the Security Zone and demanded from the Joint
Control Commission to interfere, but the Transnistrian and the Russian
sides spoke out against this, while they considered that it is not
within the Commission’s terms of reference. Four JCC sittings were
needed for settling this situation and only on Thursday the car and the
money were returned to the Moldovan side.
JCC Co-Chairman on
the part of Moldova Ion Solonenco told Infotag that the passage of
encashment services is regulated by the Agreement of 1993 between the
sides and the driver did not have to fill in any declaration.
“The detention was unlawful and we are glad that Justice triumphed”, - he underlined.
