The representatives of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the
Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe – the international
mediators to the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, and of the
European Union and the United States – the observers of the process are
holding a new round of consultations in Helsinki in the format of 3+2
today.
The delegations are discussing issues of the
Transnistrian conflict settlement progress, in particular the work of
joint Chisinau and Tiraspol groups on confidence-building measures.
The
Helsinki forum is being held in the absence of Moldova or Transnistria
representatives. On Monday, European Union Special Representative for
Moldova Kalman Mizsei discussed the Transnistria topic with Moldovan
President Vladimir Voronin and Minister of Reintegration Vasile
Sova.
